Concepts are the main elements of thesauri. They represent a unit of thought which is formed by combining some or all of the characteristics of a concrete or abstract, real or imaginary object. Concepts may be considered as belonging to mutually exclusive categories (facets).
Concepts are represented by terms. A term is the verbal form we use to describe a concept.
